Maria Marcela Velikovsky
¡Hola! My name is Marcela Velikovsky. I am a native Spanish speaker from Buenos Aires, Argentina. I received my degree in Education from Teacher’s Training College in Buenos Aires, and also studied at Teacher’s Training College in Living Languages. I taught English as a foreign language in Elementary and Middle school in Argentina. I Joined the Bullis family in February 2008. I have designed, developed and taught the Lower School Spanish program for five years. I have also designed and taught the curriculum for the new sixth grade Spanish courses and Spanish I for Middle School, and became a full time teacher in the Middle School in 2012. I also worked at “Escuela Argentina” in Potomac, where I taught Spanish Language Arts and Social Studies to bilingual speakers for eight years. I am married to a scientist and have two kids, 13 and 19 years old. My husband’s postdoctoral research work brought us to the United States 14 years ago. Teaching is my passion and I am very excited about starting another year at Bullis!
